My foundation as a therapist began with training and influence from the modalities of Psychodynamic, Existential, Jungian, and Multicultural with additional competency in multiracial and ethnic diversity counseling. I began seeing clients in 2016 and I have continued to specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, panic, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, disordered eating, codependency, PTSD, trauma, as well as transgenerational trauma.
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher who continues to expand on my foundation in Anusara (heart centered) yoga with trauma informed, trauma sensitive yoga continuing education. I enjoy being able to integrate breathing, imagery, somatic and grounding exercises into traditional therapy. In addition to mindfulness techniques and exercises, I include EFT tapping to increase grounding skills that can be utilized at any time.
I have also completed additional training in trauma-informed yoga, focusing on somatic healing from PTSD and trauma through yoga, pranayama, and meditation. I am certified in nutrition and wellness consultation in order to provide a therapeutic experience focused on holistic care that combines mindfulness with intuitive eating and nutritional knowledge.
Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat anxiety-based disorders including PTSD, emotional/sexual trauma, and negative beliefs about oneself, I also received training in Attachment focused EMDR for family of origin and inner child therapeutic work.
These foundational skills allow me to apply appropriate interventions by reflecting with you on your life’s narrative to help in identifying patterns as well as areas of strength. I believe that my work as a therapist is in helping you to see your Self and essentially better know your Self – wholly and authentically – so that you can do your work to support your mental health, increase your contentment with your quality of life and focus on what means most to you in your personal journey.
