Each month, Galleria Dallas spotlights an important organization or cause on a Gallery Wall in the center through its Galleria Gives program. During March, the partner organization is the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas.
The exhibit, which will be on display beginning Monday, March 3, will feature information on the Visiting Nurse Association’s Meals on Wheels, Hospice Care and Palliative Care programs. In Dallas County, the Meals on Wheels program delivered 1.7 million meals last year. Through its Hospice and Palliative Care programs, the organization helps enhance both adult and pediatric patients’ quality of life and ensures they have the resources they need in a caring, safe environment.
“Partnering with Galleria Dallas and its Galleria Gives program gives us the opportunity to connect with thousands of North Texans, sharing our call to action to Give, Learn, Serve,” said Katherine Krause, president and CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas. “Through this collaboration, we hope to raise awareness about the hospice care, palliative care and Meals on Wheels services we offer, which serve as resources for so many individuals and families in our community today and in the future.”
During the exhibit, the VNA will host several events at Galleria Dallas. The first, Make Cards & Spread Joy, will allow guests to create colorful, one-of-a-kind handmade cards for Meals on Wheels recipients – homebound seniors who will love the bright notes sent their way. This activity, suitable for both adults and children, will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays March 8-29 on Level 3 near the Play Place. On Friday, March 28, the Move for Meals Body Stretch and Walk will take guests on a fun and energizing walk around Galleria Dallas, beginning with a group stretch led by VNA volunteer and yoga instructor/meditation guide Mellissa Nguyen. Walkers will receive tips on health and nutrition along the way, as well as enjoy a refreshing treat at the end. The event begins at 8:15 a.m. in front of the Gallery Wall, on Level 1 across from Sephora.
