Spooky season is right around the corner, meaning it’s time to brainstorm all the Halloween makeup, nails, and costumes. Whether you love going all out or keeping it subtle, doing your nails is the perfect way to get in the spirit. No matter if your Halloween aesthetic is cute or creepy, there is a nail idea set out there for you. Please keep reading for some of my favorite ideas!
Skeleton Bones
Lean into the deadly part of Halloween with this skeleton bone look. To get this fantastic nail set, paint a jet-black color all over each nail. Then, carefully paint the bones with white polish. (For the small details, having a fine-tip nail brush is a must). If you don’t feel comfortable doing this look yourself, take this inspiration to a nail stylist.
Adorable Ghosts
Those wanting an adorable ghost look need to try this. To create this look, paint your nails with light pink nail polish and top with chrome powder. Using a toothpick, draw the outline of each ghost, fill it in with white, and add black eyes and mouth. To add a finishing touch, draw little witch hats in various colors using a fine-tip nail art brush.
Pumpkin French Tips
Pumpkins and Halloween go together like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich – you can’t have one without the other. Pay tribute to this fall staple with a really cute pumpkin French tip look. Start with a neutral-toned base (beige, peach, light gray, etc.), then choose five fall colors to form your pumpkins. Create a rounded tip (where the French tip would start) with each of the five shades to form a pumpkin shape. Finally, use a detailing brush to add stalks and outline the pumpkins in black.
Itty Bitty Bats
I’m utterly batty over this nail look! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.) Like in the photo, you can have all your nails painted with bats or only a couple. Start with a light-colored base for the nails with bats and a dark purple for the other nails. Once that’s dry, use a toothpick dipped in black nail polish to create the points of the bat’s wings. Connect the points by creating a diamond-shaped body and swooped wings.
Frankenstein French Tips
One of the most iconic monsters in history, Frankenstein is a classic Halloween staple. Pay tribute to this infamous creature with a set of Frankenstein French tips. You only need metallic green and black nail polishes and a detailing brush (or toothpick) to create this look. At the top of each nail, fill in a fifth with the metallic green color. At the base of your cuticle, use the brush or toothpick to draw crisscrossing black lines for the hair.
