Try something new at Bitter Sisters Brewery and enjoy one of their in-house beers. Bitter Sisters is the only production brewery in Addison and is an independent, family-owned craft brewery. They offer beers such as the Busy Body, a Blonde Lager, or the Hot Temper, which they describe as a cool way to blow off steam! The tasting room is open Tuesday through Friday from 4 pm – 9 pm, Saturday from 2 pm – 9 pm, and Sunday from 12 pm – 6 pm.

Austin’s Bar-B-Que is a family-owned barbeque joint serving up Authentic Texas BBQ. The menu features smoked meats served by the pound, as a sandwich, or a plate. Brisket and Pulled Pork are only some examples of their mouthwatering meats that pair perfectly with a baked potato or potato salad. Mac n cheese and green beans are some of the classic BBQ sides that you’ll see on the menu, and you can finish off your meal with banana pudding or peach cobbler for something sweet. Their sandwiches range from a classic Mendo’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich to a more adventurous Pork Belly Banh Mi. Vegetarians can try the new Philly Shroomsteak, featuring Fable, a plant-based meat made from shiitake mushrooms.

#6. Satchmo at the Waldorf

WaterTower Theatre presents Satchmo at the Waldorf! SATCHMO AT THE WALDORF is a one-man, three-character play in which the same actor portrays Louis Armstrong, the greatest of all jazz trumpeters; Joe Glaser, his white manager; and Miles Davis, who admired Armstrong’s playing but disliked his onstage manner. It takes place in 1971 in a dressing room backstage at the Empire Room of New York’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, where Armstrong performed in public for the last time. just four months before his death. Reminiscing into a tape recorder about his life and work, Armstrong seeks to come to terms with his longstanding relationship with Glaser, whom he once loved like a father but now believes to have betrayed him, and Davis’ criticisms of him as a fellow Black artist. The show runs from April 17th through April 28th with performances at the Addison Theatre Centre. View showtimes and purchase tickets here.
