Margaritas for National Margarita Day

There are a handful of dates during the year that can spark that sort of hopeful feeling that things are going to be ok. That no matter what is going on around us, on this day, we can set those things aside and enjoy ourselves. This date I’m about to mention may not seem like an important date at first sight, but believe me, it’s a great day!

Feb. 22 is National Margarita Day. This delicious and refreshing cocktail can be enjoyed on the rocks or frozen and in a myriad of tasty flavors.

Let me start with something a little spicy. At Gloria’s, they make a couple of spicy margaritas you need to try. The Spicy Pineapple Margarita is made with Corazon Silver Tequila, lime, and spicy pineapple and let me tell you it packs a bit of a kick. For a bit of a different taste, try the Spicy Cucumber Margarita. This one is made with El Jimador Blanco Tequila, lime juice, cilantro, jalapeño, and Monin Cucumber.

El Rincon Mexican Kitchen in Addison Circle offers some unique margaritas. From the Skinny Rita to the El Rincon Top

Shelf, the question is, where to start? My favorite here is the Mangonada. This is a frozen Margarita made with mango puree, Chamoy, and Tajin. If you are having a hard time choosing a flavor, try their Infused Margarita Flight. For National Margarita Day, El Rincon will have some pretty amazing specials.
