Memorial Day is an important day for many Americans. It’s a day to remember and honor many that have paid their lives for our country, and it is a special day for many family members who have served in the military. It’s an important day when we all come together to celebrate the lives of those that have been lost and to enjoy the company of those around us.
This year, many things can be done in celebration; here are only a few that Addison has to offer.
Crossbuck BBQ
Texas is one of the best places in the United States to celebrate Memorial Day because we have some of the best BBQ known to man. No one can argue that Texas doesn’t have the best BBQ; it’s a hometown specialty. If you’re looking for a place to eat wonderous food, you must try out Crossbuck BBQ, located at 4400 Spring Valley Rd, Farmers Branch, TX 75244. At this restaurant, you can enjoy authentic Central Texas BBQ. Imagine the beautiful taste of slow-cooked brisket, smoked sausage, pork ribs, and more. Plus, Crossbuck offers a vast space for large parties, so if you want to have a family gathering, you can rent out Crossbuck BBQ for Memorial Day and have upwards of 200 people enjoy some excellent-tasting Texas BBQ.
Sidecar Social
If you’re looking for brunch, then look no further than Sidecar Social: a spot that offers a lounge experience that mixes the concepts of relaxation, fun, and great food all at once. This place is not your typical Dallas bar. On May 31st, they’re offering a Memorial Day special where you can get half-price on all wine bottles for the entire day. Also, you can enjoy $4 call drinks from 11 AM to 6 PM. With all these drinks, they’re also introducing their new Jalapeno Cheddar waffle and their Banana Foster Waffle! Plus, you can enjoy a live band karaoke experience at 8 PM. The brunch menu is from 11 AM to 4 PM, and you can locate Sidecar Social at 5100 Belt Line Rd, Addison, TX 75254.
National Memorial Day Concert
Don’t want to head out of the house but still want to enjoy the patriotic spirit? Then you can watch the National Memorial Day Concert live on television. This year will feature stories from individuals that have done much for our country, an example being General Colin L. Powell, who was an integral part of this concert and speaking to the nation about the meaning of Memorial Day and enlightening us on the sacrifice of many have offered for us to live with liberty and freedom. They’re even giving us performances from Joe Mantegna, Gary Sinise, Mary McCormack, Jack Everly, the National Symphony Orchestra, The U.S. Army Herald Trumpets, and many more.

Located at 4980 Belt Line Rd, #250, Dallas, TX, United States, Texas, you can catch plenty of different shows that can definitely illicit a smile on any gloomy day. For Memorial weekend, try out the You Got 5 On It! show, where you can catch comedians from Comedy Central, BET, or your neighbors telling their best jokes. The show begins at 3 PM and is restricted to people that are 18 and up, as this is a more adult-focused event, and it is on May 28th, so mark that Sunday down to come out and experience live jokes that will have you belly-aching and a smile implanted on your face.
