AMLI – Green, Luxury Living in Addison

Welcome to AMLI’s future urban oasis of 400 apartment homes, rental townhomes, for-sale townhome lots, and retail in Addison. Located just south of the intersection of Belt Line Road and Midway Road, next to the Redding Trail Linear Park, the newest AMLI community in Dallas will be sure to impress.AMLI - Green, Luxury Living in Addison

Construction of AMLI Tree House starts this year and includes a three-acre expansion of the Redding Trail, adding more parkland, a lengthier trail system, and a more robust dog park. All of which will be significant additions to the community. AMLI will proudly dedicate the expansion and improvements to the Town of Addison.

“Addison’s City-Wide Trails Master Plan was created based on community input. A strong message that was heard from the community was the need to build additional trail systems that meandered through more natural areas,” said Janna Tidwell, Director of Parks and Recreation for the Town of Addison. “AMLI is helping the Town to meet the needs of residents by providing a green corridor that will connect residents to trails and nature-inspired landscaping.”

AMLI’s Commitment to Preserving Trees

As part of the construction process, AMLI plans to preserve many trees, including large legacy trees that enhance the area’s beauty.

“We wish we could save all the trees, but we are committing to replacing a large majority of the caliper inches we remove and replanting them around the property and along the trail extension,” said Robert Lapp, Vice President of Development for AMLI. “This could equate to hundreds of trees. We are also providing much-needed routine care and maintenance to save as many trees as possible.”

Implementing a Tree Care Program

To shelter and promote the wellness of the trees, AMLI is constructing a tree farm for those they will relocate. When they replant the trees, they will also replace some lost during the Midway Road improvement construction. Arborists are implementing a tree care program that includes soil aeration and fertilization, selective pruning, treatment for pests and fungus, and tree protection fencing.  They will continuously monitor the trees for overall health. Many of these measures are beyond those required by the Town of Addison and are part of AMLI’s pledge to sustainability.

“The urban forest in Addison is an important part of the Town’s identity, and as a result, town staff works diligently to steward this natural resource,” continued Tidwell. “AMLI, through their tree preservation approach on the project, has demonstrated an understanding of the importance of the urban forest in Addison and has become a partner with the Town in stewarding this valuable natural resource.”

A Legacy of Environmental Stewardship

AMLI’s long-term commitment to environmental stewardship has endured since the company’s founding in 1980. AMLI Development Company has achieved over 50 LEED Certifications, more than any other apartment developer, owner, and operator in the country.

AMLI’s green features provide healthier and more efficient homes for residents with a focus on sustainability; clean procurement and efficient energy use; water conservation; health and wellness; green mobility; saving bees, butterflies, and birds; and recycling and composting.

“We are excited to unveil this new environmentally friendly community in Addison as a welcome addition to the AMLI portfolio. The design is well-planned and serves Addison residents with more walkable green space, trails, and a sustainable living option, ” said Joe Bruce, Senior Vice President of Development for AMLI.
