Addison’s Special Events Department won 15 awards from the International Festivals & Events Association this year as part of the IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards Competition. Addison offers so many events that it’s almost criminal not to enjoy some of these events, but some may not know what or where these events are. Addison Oktoberfest
At this event, you can enjoy a taste of the original Bavarian celebration with a Texan twist. For over 35 years, people of Addison have donned dirndls and lederhosen to enjoy the four-day event filled with food, music, and bier. You can experience polka bands and other traditional entertainers on multiple stages in Addison Circle Park. You can even participate in special games for bier lovers, kids of all ages, dachshunds, and more. This event ranges from September 14-17, so you can get your tickets to enjoy German culture in Texas ahead of time.
Taste Addison
During this event, you can sample all that Addison has to offer during this event. This event dates back to 1993, bringing the best of the DFW area with national music artists, great Addison eateries, wine and spirits tastings, special performances, and activities for the whole family. You can enjoy food of all kinds, from small dishes, snacks, or appetizers, for only $5 or less. Make sure to save June 2-3 on your calendar for this event.
Addison After Dark
If you’re someone that enjoys the nightlife, there are events out there for you as well. Addison After Dark offers multiple possibilities and specialty entertainment, all of which have different themes and offers a variety of activities. You can enjoy live music, food trucks, and unique experiences. The upcoming event for people to enjoy is Fiesta Noche, happening on April 15th; then, you can encounter Pints & Pups on August 19th and Harvest Hayday on October 21st.
Addison Kaboom Town!
Are you in a patriotic mood and want to enjoy the festivities with your friends and family? A show that is visible all across Addison, fireworks, and an airport show all in one evening; Kaboom Town, an airshow on July 3rd! This event dates back to 1985 and has been one of the unique events that Addison has to offer, with each year approximately 500,000 guests come and visit!
Vitruvian Park Events
One of the more popular events in Addison is held at Vitruvian Park, where you can find some of the best light shows in all of North Texas. During the winter, you can see this park lit up brilliantly with colorful winter wonderland lights. The park viewing is free admission, and you can grab dinner while you enjoy the lights from late November to early January.
