North Texas Giving Day is hosted by the Community Foundation of Texas (CFT), one of the country’s largest community foundations. They work as “a catalyst for thriving communities” and have had the goal of building thriving communities for all residents since 1953. They mainly operate from, and service organizations in north Texas, but the organization additionally supports the entire state and other areas through the help of their donors.
The goal of North Texas Giving Day is to empower North Texas residents to give back to their communities. Locals can easily support their nonprofits and other essential causes to achieve this mission via the easy-to-use online platform.
There are few things more rewarding than the feeling of giving back to others and to our communities. Many organizations are still recovering from the pandemic and are attempting to rediscover their footing. Community support is crucial for these organizations to run as efficiently as possible. Our communities support us in more ways than we know, such as providing us a sense of home and opportunities at our fingertips, so we must not neglect these core organizations when there is an opportunity to give back.
Last year, sixty-six million dollars were raised through the 103,000 participating donors on North Texas Giving Day. This benefited over 3,300 local nonprofits, with twenty-seven different cause sectors, in North Texas counties. The accumulation of this event’s fundraising has brought their grand total to over $441 million. We can thank these astonishing numbers to the members of the North Texas community like you, who contribute to making this the largest community-wide giving event in the nation.
