Sometimes, all you have time for is fast food. Unfortunately, a lot of fast food spots aren’t the healthiest options, but fast food can be healthy too with options such as salads, sandwiches, and wraps. This list includes lunch spots perfect for your lunch break where you can enjoy a nutrition-packed meal within minutes.

Mendocino FarmsFast and Healthy Lunch Spots

Mendocino Farms is a family business committed to serving up creative sandwiches and salads with farm-fresh ingredients. Their sandwiches range from a classic Mendo’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich to a more adventurous Pork Belly Banh Mi. Whether you want to play it safe or explore new flavors, Mendocino Farms is a perfect spot.


Salata is one of my favorites for lunch. You get to choose your lettuce base, over 50 fresh toppings including fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds, protein options, and one of their signature dressings. You can also make your salad into a wrap, or add on a soup, croissant, or freshly baked pita chips. Fresh organic teas from their tea tap make a perfect pair to a crisp salad.

The Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors is a classic sub shop with a convenient location in Addison. Their subs are built with freshly sliced deli meats and cheeses and a variety of toppings served hot or cold. The classic meat and cheese subs, vegetarian options, and toasty cheesy subs fill their menu. You can even get select sandwiches on a croissant! Grab a sandwich to go with a side of chips or a pickle.

This Readers’ Choice Awards Winner for Favorite Mediterranean Restaurant is the perfect spot to get fresh Greek food. Their pitas and wraps steal the show, featuring a classic Gyro Pita, Chicken Pita, the vegetarian Falafel Pita, and so much more. They also have an array of soups, salads, dinner platters, and more.

Whole Foods

Whole Foods in Addison features a fresh bar and hot bar as well as grab-and-go lunches including sandwiches and sushi, making it the perfect spot to grab a fast lunch. My favorite sandwich is the TTLA – a vegan take on a BLT featuring smokey tempeh, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and garlic aioli. Build a salad at the fresh bar, or choose from buffet-style hot foods and soups at the hot bar.
