Celebrate National Dog Day With Your Four-Legged Friend

Celebrate National Dog Day With Your Four-Legged FriendEveryone knows that a dog is a man’s best friend as well as the world’s most popular pet. Lucky for you, National Dog Day is just around the corner, on Friday, August 26th. Find ways to celebrate your furry friends at the perfect places in The Corridor, which is home to a variety of dog parks, pet stores, and dog-friendly patios. What will you do with your dog to honor them on their special day?

Take Your Dog to the Park

You and your dog will have a variety of Addison-located dog parks to choose from for playtime on National Dog Day. 1.85-acre Spruill Park in Addison Circle includes a dog park for both small and large dogs. This park features two charming sculptures, Let’s Play and The Bone, located by the park entrance. Linear Park, off Midway Road, includes Redding Trail Dog Park, a smaller park. This park is split in half, with one part for small dogs and one for large dogs. If your pup prefers to play with dogs closer to their size, this is the park for them! Each side of the park includes a double-gated entry, tables and benches, and water fountains for your and your dog.

Take Your Dog on a Walk

Also in the North Corridor is Wagging Tail Dog Park, a whopping 6.9-acre off-leash dog park. If you’re also interested in taking your dog for a long walk or run, go and experience their looping walking trail.

Spoil Your Dog

Does your dog need some pampering and a toy restock for their holiday? National Dog Day is your pet’s day to be extra spoiled! Visit PetSmart or Petco stores in the North Corridor to treat your dogs to new accessories, toys, and treats.

Treat Your Dog to a Meal

When it’s time for a meal, take your dog on a trip to one of The Corridor’s dog-friendly patios. Opt for Vitruvian Park Tavern if you are in the mood for the classic American menu of burgers, sandwiches, and sharable plates. Are you in the spirit for a more lively atmosphere in which your dog can join? Go to Sidecar Social and take a seat on their energetic patio. On the other side of the food spectrum, Nate’s Seafood is the restaurant to go to for a Cajun-style meal, with plenty of steak and seafood options.

Have a fantastic National Dog Day with your dog, and make it the best one yet!
