Waterproof Makeup for Warm Weather

Waterproof Makeup for Warm WeatherThat good ole’ hot Texas heat is rapidly approaching us, so it’s time to rotate the clothes in our closet and switch up makeup products. In summer, the high temperatures and long days mean that non-waterproof makeup is bound to run down or rub off on your face due to sweat and humidity. To combat this, we’ve put together a list of a few high-quality waterproof makeup products that will help you feel (and look) cute the whole day.

Stick to Skincare & Sunscreen

Your daily skincare routine is just as important as the makeup look you apply to keep your skin clean and healthy. The crucial first step is a gentle cleanser that thoroughly cleans your face without being too abrasive. First Aid Beauty’s Pure Skin Face Cleanser is gentle on your skin while simultaneously removing all the sweat, dirt, makeup, and impurities from your face. Next, apply an oil-free moisturizer like Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost. Moisturizers like this will reduce the greasiness and stickiness on your face throughout the day, especially in summer. And last but certainly not least, use zinc sunscreen every day to help protect your skin from the damaging UV rays. Elta MD’s UV Clear Face Sunscreen is one of the best out there for its smooth and light texture and its ability to block the adverse effects of the sun.

Eye Makeup

To avoid the dreaded “tear track” look, you’ll want waterproof mascara for the duration of your day. Clinique’s Lash-Power Mascara stays on through humidity, sweat, rain, and tears and lengthens your lashes to give them a nice, complete look. A good eyeliner enhances the look by filling in gaps and creating a shape for your eye. Whether you prefer liquid eyeliner like Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner or a steady eyebrow pencil such as Sephora’s Retractable Brow Pencil, either one will stay on without smudging or streaking.

Face Makeup

While you don’t want to wear a ton of makeup during the summer, a few products are absolute musts. First off is a tinted concealer like this one by bareMinerals. Less is more, and this product goes on light, evens your skin tone, and blur imperfections. Next up is the Physicians Formula Argan Wear Bronzer. Applying this product to the high points of your face – nose, cheekbones, forehead, and chin – will help you look lighter and brighter. Finally, putting on a long-wearing colorful blush like the Clinique Cheek Pop Blush will help give you a natural-looking splash of color.
