Educators are truly the backbone of society and progress. Teachers play a critical role in the lives of youth everywhere, offering their daily dedication to the advancement of education, offering guidance to children, and raising the leaders of tomorrow. And a nationwide celebration is taking place this week to honor those who pledge their time, passion and skills to educate future generations.
From May 2 until Friday, May 6, Teacher Appreciation Week 2022 salutes our schools’ teachers. Teaching is a hard job, but incredibly invaluable and impactful. There are many ways to show your support for local educators: ‘Thank-You’ campaigns or personal notes, gift cards, or even by honoring a teacher that impacted your life on social media—using the hashtag #ThankATeacher.
The local North Dallas community is also coming together to recognize local teachers’ commitment to supporting student success and providing the power of education to today’s youth.
Throughout the week, John Wayne Enterprises is joining in the celebration of our schools’ heroes with free admission for all educators to the John Wayne: An American Experience exhibit.
May 1 through May 7, all educators with a valid ID will be granted admission to the sprawling, 10,000-square foot exhibit which boasts exclusive access to an intimate tour of famed actor John Wayne’s life.
Among the free experience, teachers will be able to enjoy the large exhibit in its entirety, structured from the very beginning of Wayne’s childhood through his most notable work, with each room spotlighting various aspects of his legacy. From an extensive film gallery titled “Life on Screen,” which displays some of his most iconic costumes and film props, to a gallery of Grammy-nominated original poems recited by John Wayne himself, the exhibit truly immerses patrons in his extensive career and creativity.
Also among the various amenities are a multitude of never-before-seen, deeply cherished family photos and correspondences carefully curated by John Wayne’s family. This exclusive access grants guests an all-encompassing view into the life of the American actor and filmmaker.
“We think that teachers are some of the most important heroes we have,” says Sande Brandt Exhibit Director of John Wayne: An American Experience. “Just like John Wayne, they work hard, show grit, and leave a lasting impression. We just wanted to let our local heroes know how much they’re appreciated!”
The John Wayne: An American Experience exhibit will be showcased at the Fort Worth Stockyards Historic Exhibits Building at 2501 Rodeo Plaza in Forth Worth, Texas. While educators get in free, tickets are also being sold at affordable prices. Tickets for adults are $21.95 and only $17.95 for kids aged 6-12 and can be purchased at: johnwayne.com/experience. Children 5 years old and younger will be admitted free of charge.
