Local Resources for North Texas Entrepreneurs

Local Resources for North Texas EntrepreneursTaking the first steps to start a new business can be a daunting road. Despite this, many new entrepreneurs fail to seek assistance and choose to walk the path alone.

According to experts, Texas is known for its collaborative startup culture. A 2017 study performed by Thomas P. Miller & Associates analyzed the Texas entrepreneurial ecosystem, finding that it is vital for entrepreneurs to exercise the use of resource providers and build relationships with previous successful entrepreneurs. However, many businesses in the early stages are unaware of the opportunities to connect within their local communities.

Fortunately, valuable and affordable resource information is readily available in North Texas. And two major players are extremely beneficial, regional resources: the North Texas Small Business Development Center (NTSBDC) and Addison Treehouse.

The NTSBDC is a big-ticket asset for entrepreneurs in Northern Texas, offering a wide range of resources. From counseling and business advising to free workshops, North Texas SBDC has a variety of ways to provide encouragement, vision, coaching, and funding for new businesses.

Among their most valuable programs is the free one-on-one mentoring offered by their professional business advisors – accessible to all. To make things easier, there are multiple NTSBDC field center locations across the area.

Startup networks with strong mentorship models are also an important device for entrepreneurs to keep in their pockets.

Addison Treehouse, co-founded by The City of Addison and the Dallas Entrepreneur Center, is making waves in business development by connecting local entrepreneurs with innovative spaces and communities. They provide networking and advising opportunities such as a devoted team of mentors, workshops, entrepreneurial events, and many ways to connect with experienced professionals.

As a resource-oriented coworking space, multiple services are available for members with their virtual membership starting at only $75 per month. For the more ambitious entrepreneur, other membership plans are available that grant access to many more amenities.

Although the road seems long, the abundance of expert advice and support in North Texas is encouraging and rewarding, proven by the many successful businesses sprouting up here each year.
