Whether you prefer Nike shorts or neon leotards, tie-dye bike shorts or stretchy leggings (or some combination of all the above), don your favorite workout gear and get ready for a night of F-U-N in Addison! Addison After Dark: REC the Night is coming to Addison Circle Park this Saturday, July 17, and it’s all about getting your sweat on, burning calories, and having a fantastic time doing it.
REC the Night is a celebration of Parks and Recreation Month. Texas Clearwater Revival will kick off the event at 7 p.m. with live music, followed by Sunset Yoga hosted by Addison Circle Yoga at 8:30 p.m. Addison Circle Yoga offers yoga classes for all levels, hosted by a variety of inspirational yogis. Often, these classes are hosted outside, so you can enjoy the beauty of nature as you go throw your poses. This fun sunset yoga, hosted by nationally recognized yoga coach Ricky Tran, is a peaceful way to move your body surrounded by community members!
At 9 p.m., Extended Play will host a glow party with live music. Extended Play is a seven-piece professional band made up of experienced musicians and vocalists who play high-quality live music without the use of pre-recorded tracks. The glow party will make you feel like a kid again, with neon lights and good music blending together into one fun (and totally Insta-worthy) experience. You can even support the Special Olympics Texas by purchasing a glow kit onsite.
For those looking for more action and adventure, plenty of that can be found at REC the Night as well! Throughout the event, participants of all ages and fitness levels can enjoy these free activities: an Addison Activity Trailer, an Addison Outdoors Fitness Challenge, bungee jumping, laser and water tag, rock climbing wall, archery gallery, balloon twisting, and inflatables.
When you get hungry, visit one of several food trucks on site. Cousin’s Maine Lobster will be serving delicious lobster rolls, quesadillas, and tots for your enjoyment. Ruthie’s and Café Momentum will offer amazing gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, filled with unique toppings and melt-in-your-mouth cheeses. Finally, Waffle O’licious will be selling sweet and savory waffles, so you can toppings like chicken, scrambled eggs, strawberries, peanut butter, chocolate, and more. You can also bring your own picnic lunch and blanket, and simply spread out on the lawn for dinner.
While you’re there, check out America’s Finest Beverage Catering’s signature event drink: a Mojito Wine Spritzer! This is a refreshing option on a hot summer’s night.
