WaterTower Theatre has announced a new masterclass series aimed to help local artists get back into midseason form. This masterclass is for performing artists of every level and is designed to help artists find their way back onto the stage. After the last year of performances being on hold and canceled as well as the uncertainty of the future, this class will help artists get back into artistic shape. This special class will help provide a safe, supportive environment where artists can work on their book or material in order to get back on their feet artistically.
The class will be led by Shane Peterman (Producing Artistic Director- WaterTower Theatre, Co-Founder/CEO-The Acting Studio) and Vonda K. Bowling (Music Director, Pianist, Accompanist, Conductor, Voice Teacher, and Vocal Coach in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.)
“After producing theatrical digital capture(s) for film during the last six months, it became clear to me that what we need as a community and as artists, is to find our way back to the stage by rediscovering our space again,” said Peterman. “Being on stage is the first step to coming back home to theatre and to ourselves as artists.”
The masterclass will last four weeks and each class is two hours long. They will run from March 29 through April 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. Space will be limited due to COVID-19 restrictions and all students and staff will be required to follow WaterTower Theatre safe and sanitary procedures. WaterTower Theatre safety guidelines can be found here.
The cost for the class is $195. Contact Associate Producer Elizabeth Kensek for enrollment and payment arrangements. Participants will need an updated headshot and resume as well as any sheet music needed for the pianist and can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
