Try a new Addison restaurant this week! Credit: Zalat Pizza.

Spring is in the air; we have survived the craziest weather I think I have ever seen in my time in Texas and it’s time to celebrate. It’s time to go back out and explore some of the new foodie spots in Addison. From pizza to Korean fried chicken and so much more, let’s eat!

“We leave it all on the pizza field. The perfect pie is our Mona Lisa, our raison d’etre, our Sistine Chapel our Angela Jolie.” Zalat Pizza. One of Addison’s newest restaurants, Zalat Pizza is here to satisfy all your pizza cravings. They make their own dough, roast their own Roma tomatoes, and add fresh basil to make their sauce. These guys are serious about their pizza! Try the Simple Basil, made with beef pepperoni, cracked black pepper, and garnished with fresh-cut basil, this is a tasty pie! Looking to try something different? How about the Pho Shizzle? Chicken, red bell peppers, caramelized onions, hoisin, and Sriracha swirl, topped with basil and cilantro garnish. It packs the right amount of kick. Zalat’s pizzas are available for pickup or delivery, make sure to visit their website for the full menu.

El Rincon Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar is an authentic Mexican restaurant in the heart of Addison Circle. Their menu features popular Mexican dishes that will transport you south of the border with their authentic flavors. They take great care to serve only the highest quality food and drinks, and to make sure guests feel like family. If you aren’t quite sure what to order, try the Botanas Platter. Guests get a sample of their chicken fajita quesadillas, beef fajita nachos and chicken flautas. It’s also served with queso dip, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Of course, for your main entrée, try the Fajita Monterrey, the Asada Quesadillas or the Torta El Chavo. The torta is a grilled sandwich filled with pulled pork, guacamole, refried beans, Monterrey cheese, pickled onions, and romaine lettuce. I highly recommend it. Check out their website for more information on their menu and happy hour specials.

If you are looking for that Louisiana cuisine, try Tasty Tails. New Orleans born and raised, Tasty Tails brings with it delicious crawfish served NOLA Style and with several heat levels from Mild to Hella OMG Spicy. Of course, you know they are going to have delicious crawfish pasta, Etouffee as well as gumbo, red beans and rice, oysters and so much more. Looking for a quick meal, try their Overstuffed Po’Boys (shrimp, catfish, soft shell crab, or oyster) or if you are like me and love anything fried, grab one of their Fried Baskets and enjoy!

Bonchon is bringing their signature Korean flavor to Addison. They are best known for their crunchy double-fried chicken and signature sauces. According to their website, “Founded in South Korea in 2002, the word “Bonchon” means “my hometown” in Korean and represents the company’s mission to be a constantly reliable source of familiarity and comfort for our customers by serving up a delicious, premium food experience wherever they are.” They will open their Addison location on Mar. 15 and will be giving away free Bonchon swag to the first 100 guests as well as doing an online sweepstakes where one lucky winner will win a year’s worth of Bonchon’s signature Korean double-fried chicken! Visit their website for more information on their menu.
