Today, Feb. 1, the DART officially began construction of the Addison Silver Line Station! The initial work will include clearing the site, track and tie removal, and environmental control installation.
All work will be done within the Silver Line Right of Way, and no lane or street closures are expected. Construction will take place during the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays and between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekends. Heavy construction, like excavation and concrete work, is planned to follow on Feb. 15.
Furthermore, DART issued this Community Notification: “Archer Western Herzog (AWH), the design-build contractor for the DART Silver Line Regional Rail Project, will start construction activities throughout the Silver Line corridor in January 2021. As specific activities are scheduled along the corridor, additional notifications will be issued to the communities affected. Construction activity will be conducted within the DART right of way. There will be no access to private party, unless coordinated with the property owner(s) in advance.”

For those interested, DART is hosting a virtual quarterly meeting to review the progress of the DART Silver Line from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11. Presentations during this meeting will include project facts and updates, design-build progress update, Betterments Program progress, station design progress, construction progress and safety update, and identification of contacts for FAQs and community feedback.
