Beginning today, Jan. 4, the Addison Athletic Club (AAC) is implementing mask-only hours for all patrons from 3-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 2-5 p.m. Saturdays. This is in response to requests from several AAC members. Members who visit the AAC during these times will be required to constantly wear a mask as they move about the building, exercise and change. The only exception will be if a member is actively swimming.
“Currently, the AAC complies with the Governor’s Minimum Standard Health Protocols for Gyms and Exercise Facilities,” stated the Addison Athletic Club on their Facebook page on Dec. 18. “These protocols allow gym patrons to remove their masks where social distancing is possible to be achieved. We recognize that it is important for our members who consider themselves to be in the at-risk category to have safe options for working out and remaining active.”
Additionally, the AAC will be closed for one hour a day for disinfecting. Mask-only hours will follow this cleaning.
“Ultimately, it is each member’s responsibility to ensure their personal safety when visiting our facility,” stated the AAC. “However, we believe this small change will help serve a need that has been voiced by many of our members. Thank you for doing your part in helping us protect our members.”
As a reminder, the Addison Athletic Club is only open to Town of Addison residents. You must have a valid Texas Driver’s License or Texas Identification Card with current Addison address, a secondary proof of residency, a leasing office verification form (if you live in an apartment) and a one-time $10 processing fee.
