See the Dazzling Vitruvian Lights in Addison

I wish I could be a kid-looking-at-Christmas-lights level of happy all year round. The colors dancing and twinkling, the brilliance making the nighttime air glow, the way trees just come alive when covered in strings of lights – it’s absolutely magical. Luckily, if you live in Addison, you can enjoy this glorious experience every night this month at Vitruvian Lights!

Vitruvian Lights are officially back at Vitruvian Park, where millions of sparkling LED lights are wrapped around more than 550 trees. The lights blaze beautifully every night from 5-11 p.m., where the community is invited to walk around or drive by the park for free. It’s a great place to take pictures or simply relish the magic of this winter wonderland right here in Addison.

Due to COVID-19, there will be no special events held in conjunction with Vitruvian Lights this year. However, you can still stroll through the park admiring the lights or get a drink at Addison Ice House on the patio, while overlooking the lights. I personally love stopping at Starbucks on my way to Vitruvian Lights, so I can stay warm sipping on a peppermint mocha while seeing all the beauty around me.

Vitruvian Park is home to a spring-fed creek and 19 acres of green space. The world-class park hosts public art, live performances and dramatic water features, as well as a walkway that meanders along to the creek and connects to other regional trails.

Parking is free onsite at the Vitruvian Park, Bella Lane, Park Road and Ponte Avenue Parking lots. Invite your friends, wear a mask when you aren’t at least six feet away from other people and come out and enjoy the magic of Vitruvian Lights this month! When you go, be sure to tag #VitruvianLights in your photos so we can admire all the sparkling pictures you take!
