Visiting family and friends during the holiday season is great, but it can also be exhausting. Not to mention, we are all doing a lot more traveling this time of year anyway to buy presents, shop for ingredients for baked goods and visit holiday displays throughout the metroplex. This month, make holiday traveling easier by riding on DART!

Start at the Addison Transit Center, located on Arapaho Road between Quorum Drive and Addison Road. From here, you can hop on various buses or make your way to a train station.

DART also put together a handy guide that you can reference to help you get to your favorite holiday events. For example, you can take DART Bus Route 60 to Garland @ Whittier to get to Holiday at the Arboretum at the Dallas Arboretum; take the DART Rail Green Line to Farmers Branch Station to attend the festive Christmas at the Branch; take the DART Rail Green Line to Downtown Carrollton Station to attend Shop Small Saturday in Historic Downtown Carrollton on Dec. 5 and many more.

While you ride DART this season, rest assured that they are taking cleaning measures very seriously. Passengers are required to wear face coverings on DART vehicles and properties and are encouraged to maintain a six-foot distance between fellow riders and your DART operator whenever possible. Additionally, DART has limited passenger capacity to 47 per vehicle for trains and 20 people on 40-foot buses. If you feel sick or are experiencing symptoms, please stay home and avoid public places. Also, DART has implemented more rigorous cleaning and sanitizing procedures, and they encourage anyone who sees an unhygienic surface that needs attention to call DART customer service at 214-979-1111.

We wish you a safe and happy holiday travel season!
