blankNow that the weather is getting cooler, it means it’s time to pull out the nice, warm blankets to use in the winter months and curl up on the couch to watch some feel-good movies. Here are some of our recommendations for movies that are sure to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Order some food from a local restaurant in Addison and eat it while watching one of these hit films!


While the first few minutes of this movie are sure to put you through the emotional ringer, the rest of UP is a heart-warming journey about adventure, friendship, and love. In the film, the elderly Carl Fredrickson sets out to fulfill the wishes of his late wife by flying his home to South America with thousands of balloons. However, he soon discovers he has a stowaway, a spirited and determined boy scout named Russell. Full of funny moments and a sense of awe and wonder this movie, takes you on a wild adventure to discover the power of dreams.

Back to the Future

This special movie has long been considered one of the greatest movies ever made. Set in 1985, Marty McFly is accidentally sent back in time in a DeLorean automobile to 1955 by his eccentric, lovable scientist friend, Doctor “Doc” Emmett Brown. Trapped there, he accidentally prevents his future parents’ meeting – threatening his very existence. He is then forced to bring his parents together and then somehow get back to the future. Full of great performances from the main actors, rockin’ music, and funny lines, Back to the Future is laugh-out-loud funny and is the perfect movie to take all of your cares away.

The Princess Bride

You had to know this would be on the list, right? The Princess Bride is one of the most quotable films ever for a reason: it’s hilarious, uniquely weird, and wonderful, all at the same time. The premise is simple: a sick boy is read a story by his adoring grandpa. The story he is read is about a farmhand named Westley who goes on an adventure (with some interesting and lovable companions on the way) to rescue his true love Princess Buttercup, from the evil Prince Humperdinck. Wholesome and full of great one-liners that can be used in pretty much any situation, there’s a reason that this film has been beloved for many a decade.
