Addison City-Wide Trails Master Plan Workshop Nov. 19

The Town of Addison has always taken pride in its beautiful parks and outdoor trails. After all, the town has 113 acres of lush green space, abundant recreation opportunities and miles of walking trails! If you are an outdoor enthusiast as well, then you will be excited to hear that Addison is creating the community’s first City-Wide Trails Master Plan, which will guide how the town connects places and builds trail facilities, in order to serve the community for the next  ten years and beyond. Learn more about it at the Addison City-Wide Trails Master Plan Workshop from 4-7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Addison Circle Park Pavilion.

This outdoor, pop-up workshop is designed for the community to come and help establish the proposed trail network. According to the event description, “The workshop will provide future trail information and feature a large floor map depicting draft proposed trails. Participants will respond to proposed trails by commenting and marking new ideas on the large floor map. Children will be invited to play on the map with toy people, bicyclists and cars. Community input from the pop-up workshop will help shape the recommendations in the Master Plan.”

The Addison City-Wide Trails Master Plan will identify community priorities and recommend ways to improve and create pedestrian and bike trails for residents, employees and visitors. The Master Plan kicked off in March 2020 and will conclude in early 2021. Addison is also inviting guests to take part in an online survey, available here. This survey will help shape Addison’s future trail network! After filling it out, you will be entered for a chance to win a $100 gift card to an Addison restaurant of your choice.

We can’t wait to see how City-Wide Trails Master Plan helps improve our beautiful community!
