The month of October is the beginning of several long months full of holidays that revolve around food. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner, keep your teeth clean and healthy with these tips.
Floss three times a day
Flossing everyday makes a great difference. Flossing helps to prevent the buildup of tartar, the pesky buildup that makes your teeth dirty, can damage tooth enamel and causes cavities. Flossing everyday decreases the chances of tooth decay and cavities. Flossing also helps keep your gums clean and healthy. Your teeth will thank you after eating lots of candy if you floss them.
Brush your teeth after each meal
Brushing your teeth is essential to keeping your teeth clean and shiny. Brushing your teeth after each meal helps keep the bacteria out of your mouth and protects the enamel. Tooth enamel is what keeps your teeth shiny. Brushing after eating acidic foods is also good, as this way it won’t damage the tooth enamel.
Use fluoride toothpaste
Using toothpaste that’s specifically made out of fluoride. It plays a huge part on keeping your teeth clean. Fluoride helps to get rid off of plaque and prevents tooth decay. It also helps prevent cavities. If fluoride toothpaste isn’t for you, there’s also fluoride mouthwash. In reality, we consume fluoride almost everyday as it is a natural mineral. It can be found in our water and is naturally in some foods.
After brushing and flossing your teeth, make sure you use mouthwash. This will help get rid off of bacteria that has stuck around to your teeth and tongue. Mouthwash removes debris and helps with oral hygiene. It also keeps you smelling minty!
Carry mints with you
If you can’t brush your teeth, eat a mint. It won’t do much but it will keep your breath smelling minty.
