Spicy Food During Fall

Nothing better than a spicy bowl of ramen for this fall season.

If you enjoy spicy foods, you’ve come to the right place. Today we’re checking out some spicy dishes to try out during the fall season. So without much more introduction, let’s check out some delicious spicy dishes.

Twice-Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Hot Honey

Let’s start with a delicious recipe for sweet potatoes that I came across some time ago. It’s easy and won’t take too long to make.

Here’s what you will need:

  • 3 medium sweet potatoes, scrubbed (about 3 pounds)
  • 1 Fresno or other red chiles, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

Preheat oven to 350°. Poke holes all over the sweet potatoes and wrap each one in foil. Place on a foil-lined rimmed baking sheet and roast until potatoes are tender, about 60 minutes. Unwrap and let sit until they’re cool enough to handle.

Increase oven temperature to 450°.

While the oven heats up, combine the chile, honey, and butter in a small saucepan and season with salt. Bring it to a simmer over low heat, stirring to combine. Remove from heat and stir in the apple cider vinegar.

Once the sweet potatoes cool off, smash them with your palm and tear them into bite-sized pieces, including the skin. Place in a large bowl and add half of the hot honey (do not include chile) and season with salt. Arrange pieces skin side down in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast until browned and crisp around the edges, about 20–25 minutes. Drizzle with remaining hot honey with chile.

Ramen Hakata

Of course, we had to include ramen! Is there anything better than a nice warm bowl of ramen when the temperature drops? Check out the different spicy ramen options at Ramen Hakata like their Spicy Miso Ramen, Spicy Mazemen and they even have a vegetarian option! Check out the full menu on their website.
