Mayor Chow Delivers Grant Fund Checks to Addison Businesses

Mayor Chow and Orlando Campos deliver grant fund check to Original Pancake House.

Last Tuesday, Oct. 8, Addison Mayor Joe Chow and Economic Development and Tourism Director Orlando Campos delivered grant fund checks to Addison-based businesses.

Mayor Chow and Campos hand delivered checks to some of the companies who were granted funding through the Addison Cares Lease/Mortgage Assistance Grant Program.

The Town of Addison launched this program in July to help provide support to small businesses, which were adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Town established the fund through the CARES Act funding distributed by Dallas County, and each grant was valued at 75% of a business’s gross lease or mortgage for two months, for a maximum grant award of $10,000 per company.

Twenty-one companies that applied for the program were eligible and over $120,000 has been awarded. Addison will also be launching a relief program for local hotels that have been adversely affected by revenue declines as a result of COVID-19.

If your business has been affected by COVID-19, you can find local, state and federal resources available to help you manage your current situation here.

COVID-19 has affected everyone in different ways, but you don’t have to let it destroy your business. There are resources available to help, so be sure to take advantage of them! Also, if you want to support your local businesses, then be sure to dine out, stay at local hotels, and use the services of local businesses for your personal or business needs. We can get through these tough times together!
