Stars are twinkling overhead. Friends are laughing and singing in nearby cars. Local bands are taking to the stage performing top hits and classic country songs. It’s just like any other summertime concert – except safer! If you haven’t made it out to one of the Addison Weekend Drive-Ins yet, now is your last chance. This Friday and Saturday, September 11 and 12, marks the last one of the season!
“We are excited to invite our guests back to the Addison Circle Park District for live entertainment,” said Addison Director of Special Events Jasmine Lee in a recent press release. “Our team has worked to create a fun and safe way to enjoy live music here in North Texas, and using the vacant lot south of Addison Circle Park provides the perfect location.”
This week’s lineup features Raised Right Men on Friday and the Redwine Band on Saturday, both from 8:30-10 p.m.
Raised Right Men is a classic country dance band, who consists of Justin Collins on acoustic guitar, Clint Sturgeon on bass guitar, Grady Don Sandlin on drums, LD Hill on electric guitar and Ray Austin on pedal steel guitar. They have a couple hundred honky-tonk hits ready to perform, which is sure to keep you entertained all night.
The Redwine Band is a Texas country and Top 40 music cover band. Their energetic shows feature today’s and yesterday’s greatest hits, from Pat Green, Wade Bowen and Randy Rogers Band to Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett and George Strait; and from Journey to Ed Sheeran, their set will keep you on your toes – and singing along – the entire show.
Gates open at 7:30 p.m., so be sure to show up to get a spot early. (Note, only vehicle will be allowed in.) Tune into 88.9 FM or roll down your windows to listen to the tunes inside your car or on lawn chairs next to your car.
Make it a weekend getaway by ordering food before the show and eating it while listening, then booking a night in an Addison hotel afterward.
This is your last chance to listen to one of the most fun, socially distanced concerts of the summer. You don’t want to miss it!
