Celebrate Grandparent’s Day in the Corridor By Making These Crafts

Handmade crafts by their grandchildren is something that grandparents love and will treasure for always. It’s also a great way for kids to get creative and show how much they appreciate grandma and grandpa. Plus, the Addison Athletic Center’s daily craft videos had us feeling inspired! Here are some wonderful crafts that you can make with your kids for your grandparents this upcoming Grandparent’s Day. And the best part is: you probably already have all the materials laying around your house.

Handprint Suncatcher

This craft is an adorable way to brighten up any space. They can be hung in the kitchen, bathroom, living room or bedroom, and are a surefire way to bring smiles to grandparents faces. It’s a colorful, yet easy craft for the kids: all you need is contact or clear sticker paper, tissue paper (various colors) and scissors. Craft instructions can be found here.

Salt Dough Handprint Ornaments

If you’re looking for a sentimental gift, this is perfect. These keepsakes capture a special moment in time forever. Another great thing about them is they can be made each year and show the growth of a child over the years. You should have all the ingredients in your kitchen. Handprint Flower Garden

This is such a cute, yet easy craft for the kiddos to do. All they need is some colored paper, various colors of paint and some markers. Have each child paint their hand a different color and then press it onto the paper. You can either draw or paint the green stems. Last, have them write a cute message such as: “Kids are like flowers and grandmas help them grow!” or “Grandma’s garden: where love grows.”
