Romantic Comedies to Stream in August

blankWatching a romantic comedy is something that always makes me feel better after a rough day. There’s something about them that is so comforting, and they allow you to step into another universe for a while. Another great thing about rom-coms is that they always have a happy ending, so they bring some positivity into your life. August has just begun, so there are a bunch of new movies available to stream. Here are a few good rom-coms that are streaming this month. 


Palm Springs on Hulu

This movie starring Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti is an updated take on the classic Groundhog Day. The two main characters find themselves reliving the same day while at a resort and grow closer during the out of the ordinary experience. You can stream Palm Springs on Hulu.

“Indian Matchmaking” on Netflix

If you thought arranged marriages were a thing of the past, this Netflix series will prove you wrong. A professional matchmaker helps clients navigate the process of finding a spouse through the traditional Indian matchmaking process. 

“Love on the Spectrum” on Netflix

Another dating show from Netflix, but this series follows young people who are on the autism spectrum searching for love. It gives you all the cute aspects of a romantic comedy while also teaching you about the experiences of people who live with autism. 

Morning Glory on Hulu

This quirky romantic comedy stars Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford and Patrick Wilson. McAdams plays a broadcast journalist who is on a mission to save a failing morning show and falls in love on the job. This movie is streaming on both Amazon Prime and Hulu.

Sleepless in Seattle on Netflix

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan star in this classic 90s romantic comedy as people who bond through being frequent callers into a radio show. It’s directed and co-written by Nora Ephron, who has had a hand in several iconic rom-coms, including When Harry Met Sally and You’ve Got Mail.

Mystic Pizza on Amazon Prime

This fun 80s cult classic is now streaming on Amazon Prime. Julia Roberts stars as one of three sisters who work at the Mystic Pizza parlor .

I Still Believe on Hulu

This movie that is based on a true story was released earlier in the year. It stars Britt Robertson and “Riverdale” star KJ Apa. Apa plays Christian singer Jeremy Camp, who stands alongside his wife, Melissa, during her battle with ovarian cancer.
