Favorite Foundations

blankFor those of us who like makeup, we know that a good foundation is the key to a flawless look. Finding the right foundation to add to your makeup routine is easier said than done, though. It has taken a lot of trial and error for me to find the foundation that compliment my skin well. These are a few foundations that either I have grown to love or have heard great reviews about from friends. All of them come in a diverse range of shades. You can find them at Sephora and Ulta in the Corridor.

Dewy Foundations

Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation is on the higher end price-wise, but is worth every penny. This foundation is very lightweight, while also offering a good amount of coverage.

Another amazing dewy foundation is Maybelline’s Fit Me Dewy + Smooth. This happens to be my all-time favorite foundation as well as the least expensive on the list at $8. It’s full coverage without feeling too heavy and leaves your skin still looking like skin.

Matte Foundations

Tarte’s Face Tape concealer is a hit product in the beauty world, so the brand created a foundation to go with it. If you have oily skin and want to get a lasting matte effect, this foundation is for you. It does dry very quickly, so when applying it be sure to blend it in as soon as possible.

Rihanna’s Fenty Pro Filt’r Matte foundation lasts all day and is matte without making your skin feel dry. Something I love about Fenty’s matte shades is that they account for various different undertones in skin as well.

Too Faced’s Born This Way  is another long-lasting foundation that is good for people who want to matte-ify their oily skin. This foundation is medium coverage, so not as heavy as the others, but still covers up any imperfections you may want to cover. It also has coconut water in it to add some moisture.

Neutral/Regular Foundations

Bareminerals’ powder foundation pulls double duty by acting as a sun protectant with the inclusion of SPF 15 in the formula. Because it’s in powder form, it’s really easy to apply. It does offer very light coverage, so this is best for days where you might want a more natural look.

Clinique has a product that is both a foundation and a concealer, so using this would be a way to cut down the time you spend getting ready. It’s made for “normal” skin that isn’t dry or oily.
