Dancing wildly and scream-singing at the top of your lungs in the car will actually be cool this weekend – Addison Weekend Drive-In is coming back to town! This Friday and Saturday night, Aug. 14-15, you can enjoy the live music from Extended PLAY and Joseph Veazie from the comfort of your car, as these bands take the stage at Addison Circle District from 8:30-10 p.m.

Addison Weekend Drive-In is a series of outdoor concerts featuring popular local bands. You can enjoy the show from the comfort of your vehicle while socially distancing from your neighbors. Music will be transmitted via both speaker system and FM radio, providing excellent audio quality no matter where you are parked. Admission is free for all ages; however, keep in mind that only vehicles will be admitted into the event site with no pedestrian access. Parking is open beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 14, Extended PLAY is performing. This professional band is comprised of trained musicians and vocalists, who take pride in playing quality live music without the use of tracks. It is made up of guitarist Nicholas Cook; keyboard player Chris Jordan; vocalists Kyle Giauque, Fanci Collins and Jeanne-Rene Butler; bass player Bruce Reid and drummer Ric Jones.

Saturday, Aug. 15, Joseph Veazie will take the stage. This fun-loving guy has a huge vocal range, singing everything from pop and rock to R&B and country, while making it his own. He is an award-winning performer with over a decade in the music industry, who has performed and toured nationally with Gym Class Heroes and Travie McCoy. Expect him to play 70s classics, today’s Top 40, Prince, Billie Eilish, Beyonce, The Beatles, Garth Brooks and more.

Grab some takeout at a local Addison restaurant beforehand to enjoy dinner and a show this weekend. You can also make it into a mini staycation by booking an Addison hotel room. This will get you guaranteed admission and a reserved stage front parking space at both the Friday and Saturday night concerts (limited space available). Once a hotel room has been booked, send your name, hotel and confirmation number to aholmberg@addisontx.gov to reserve your space.

Don’t let COVID-19 stop you from enjoying live music this summer! We can’t wait to (safely) see you there.
