Not to give off creepy, vampire vibes, but: we need your blood. More specifically, Carter BloodCare needs your blood, which is why it’s hosting blood drive at the Pavilion in Addison Circle from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 27. All donors can receive a free COVID-19 antibody test while you’re there!
It is always important to have blood drives for those in need, but it is more important than ever for individuals to donate blood. The COVID-19 crisis has had a huge impact on the supply of blood; due to businesses, churches and schools closing, most of the community blood banks were cancelled, threatening the adequacy of the blood supply. There are plenty of people who always need blood: cancer patients, burn victims, trauma patients, people undergoing emergency surgeries, obstetrics patients and those with GI bleeds.
Come to the Carter BloodCare blood drive in Addison Circle next Monday to give blood and help those in need. Walk-ins are welcome, but it helps to make an appointment ahead of time to avoid over-crowding. Call or text 800-366-2834 for an appointment. By making an appointment, you also ensure that you have a spot to help things go quicker and smoother. Donors will be asked to observe social distancing policies, such as maintaining six feet of space between you and the other donors.
Carter BloodCare also asks that each donor brings their own mask when you come to #BraveTheMoment, as they only have a limited number of extra masks available. The masks are for the health of both the donors and the staff. For more information, please visit Carter BloodCare’s Facebook page.
