Tired of at-home workouts? Wondering what you can do around Addison that is safe and fun at the same time? You’re in luck! There are plenty of opportunities to stay fit and have fun in town this week.
On June 30, the Addison Athletic Club outdoor pool is officially open from noon-7 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and from noon-5 p.m. on Saturdays! Put on that new swimsuit you’ve been wanting to show off, spray on some sunscreen and head to the pool. There, you can swim laps to burn calories, or simply enjoy the refreshingly cold water while getting a tan.
At first, the pool will be open at 25% capacity or 78 people. It can increase to 50% as staff becomes more experienced with the state-required cleaning requirements. According to a statement by the Athletic Club, access to the pool will be restricted to members only and guests will not be permitted. Parties will also not be allowed. You have to wear a mask to enter the facility, but you may remove it when seated socially distanced from others or while swimming.
Additionally, Addison Athletic Club members can also take group fitness classes! These include Total Body workouts, water trim, balance, boxing, dance fitness, Vinyasa yoga flow, spin, core and restore and more. There will also be classes done outdoors at Les Lacs Park Tuesday-Friday mornings, including an ab and core class, rise and shine yoga classes and a Vinyasa yoga class. These are all a great way to get moving!
Another way to stay fit is to join an Addison Circle Yoga class. Come out from 6:30-7:30 p.m. July 3 to Ellipse Park, where you can join a free yoga class. Afterward, bring picnic items to eat dinner and enjoy the sunset after class. This group is hosting socially distanced outdoor classes almost every day of the week, so you can come, stretch and move your body, while enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Check their website for the full schedule.
Summertime is meant to be fun. So get outside and enjoy it!
