Food doesn’t have to just be something that fuels your body – you can have fun with it and explore new things that you like. One way to do this is to eat foods with different ingredients, like today’s spotlight ingredient: oranges. You might not see a lot of orange in your daily at home meals, but adding some of the color to your plate will make it a better experience. These orange-themed dishes from restaurants in the Corridor will help you add some variety to your meals.
Jasmine Uniquely Chinese has a variety of different dishes that feature the color orange. If you want something on the healthier side, they have a mango salad, leafy greens with some pops of orange from the mango mixed in. They also have Vegetable Tempura and a Mango Roll.
The Londoner, a British pub right here in North Dallas, has British staples like fish and chips. They also have pub favorites like buffalo wings, which are slathered in spicy orange buffalo sauce. The Pub also also has a chips and curry appetizer, as well as the Big Boy Mac & Cheese dish, which has gooey orange cheddar cheese. For those that can’t get enough of cheese, they also have a cheese board that comes with mango chutney and apricots.
Whenever I think of BJ’s, I think of their signature Pizzookies. However, they have items on the menu that adhere to our orange theme as well. Their jumbo spaghetti and meatballs is a delicious plate of pasta with garden tomato sauce, and their handcrafted orange cream soda pairs nicely with it to wash it down.
You’d be hard pressed to find a dish at Chuy’s that doesn’t either include flavorful orange ingredients or some vibrant orange color. My personal favorite item on the restaurant’s menu, the Chicka-Chicka Boom Enchilada comes with orange signature Boom Boom Sauce.
Of course, you could always just pick up an orange from the grocery store and eat that with your breakfast! The opportunities are endless.
