If your #OOTD look hasn’t been as strong lately, then don’t worry. Summertime is the perfect time to start dressing up again. Show the world your favorite styles, girl! Whether you are still safely socially distancing at home, or you are hitting local restaurants in town once again, you definitely want to look your best. Here are a few of my favorite fashion pieces to help you get there this season.
Sophia Webster Laurellie High Espadrilles, Neiman Marcus – $236.40
Elevate your outfit with these gorgeous Sophia Webster espadrilles from Neiman Marcus, featuring a 5.5” platform heel. Pieces of feminine, floral-print fabric in pastel colors are woven throughout the braided jute platform, with matching fabric along the ankle strap and toe strap. These are perfect for sundresses or denim shorts.
Rachel Parcell Eyelet Flutter Sleeve T-Shirt, Nordstrom – $38.50
Unique sleeves are in right now, but that doesn’t mean you need a special event or a fancy gown to rock this trend. Try this flutter-sleeve T-shirt instead! The shirt (which comes in light pink, coral and green) features gorgeous fluttery sleeves with an eyelet embroidery detail. It will instantly upgrade your look. Simply tuck into your jean shorts, slip on your favorite sandals and add a colorful necklace to complete the ensemble.
Ruffled Skort, Zara – $35.90
You read that right – skorts are back! Yes, I wore these when I was three. No, I don’t care! Skorts have all the flowy, elegant look of a miniskirt, with built-in shorts underneath so you don’t have to worry about sitting lady-like or doing cartwheels in the backyard. This one from Zara is super cute, as it is a soft lilac shade with a dainty white floral print and built-in matching belt. Wear with a white T-shirt or a crop top.
Christley Smocked Romper, Francesca’s – $48
When rompers came back in style a few years ago, women everywhere breathed a sigh of relief. Then, we held on tight because we do not want this trend to slip away! I love a good romper, as it works as a swim cover up, a going-out look and an easy way to dress up when you just want to lounge around the house. This one is all-white with a pretty V-neck front and back, flutter sleeves and a stretchy waistband. Put on your favorite headband and grab your beach tote. You’re looking good!
Wynnie Denim Drawstring Shorts, Francesca’s – $40
I don’t know who decided jeans and shorts would make a good combination (looking at you, Daisy Duke), but I don’t like it. They are fine at first but spend approximately 30 seconds outside in the Texas heat, and they are tight, itchy and just plain uncomfortable. That’s why I love these drawstring denim shorts from Francesca’s. They are made with a soft, stretchy fabric that stays loose and comfortable, with a handy drawstring to keep them from slipping down. Wear these and push your “real” jean shorts to the back of the closet. You won’t need them this summer.
