Thirsty Thursdays are a bit different these days. Much like everything else, we have had to get creative and learn to make certain things at home since the shelter-in-place took place. While some restaurants are now opening back up at a reduced capacity, some people still prefer to stay at home for the time being. So, we want to help by sharing some delicious recipes for Thirsty Thursdays at home.
This week we are looking at drinks made with vodka.
If you don’t have much experience making drinks, start out with something easy. Try a basic vodka cocktail. You will need:
- 1.5 oz. Vodka
- 4.5 oz. juice (your preference)
- Soda Water
- Lime or Orange wedge
Pour the vodka, juice and a few ice cubes into a drink shaker and shake until all the ingredients are combined. Fill up a glass with ice and pour the cocktail into the glass and add a splash of soda water. Add the lime or orange wedge to the glass and you are done! It’s that easy!
The Moscow Mule Punch is pretty much a giant Moscow Mule and that means you don’t have to stand there making a second or third drink. One will suffice. You will need:
- 4 cups of ice
- 4 cups of ginger beer
- 3 cups of vodka
- 1 cup of freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 cup of mint leaves, and a little extra for the garnish
- 2 sliced limes and a few more for the garnish
To make the Moscow Mule Punch, combine the ice, ginger beer, vodka, lime juice, lime slices and mint in a big punch bowl. Serve in glasses or copper mugs and garnish with the extra mint.
