Thanks to the work of Metrocrest Services and its many volunteers, 2,239 families were helped in the month of April, with 3,508 pantry visits. This was possible thanks to all of the support from community members!
Recently, many local businesses have been partnering with Metrocrest Services to feed more people. Last week, Bank of America gave Metrocrest Services emergency grant funding, which helped them provide 685 vulnerable individuals in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Farmers Branch and Dallas with more than 14,000 nutritious meals.
On May 1, Metrocrest Services thanked several local groups for their support during this time, including Addison Midday Rotary, who donated $3,250 in April. On May 7, Metrocrest Services hosted a Drive-Thru Food Distribution in Carrollton, where families, seniors and individuals in need of food were able to pick up food without ever leaving their cars.
Metrocrest Services has been a vital part of the community for over 48 years, providing much needed services and compassionate care for individuals and seniors living in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Farmers Branch and Dallas in Denton Country. Ever dollar donated makes a difference in the lives of a person coping with food insecurity, the threat of homelessness or other crises. On North Texas Giving Day on May 5, they raised over $73,000 by 402 donors!
If you want to give back, consider donating money to Metrocrest Services to allow them to purchase and distribute food to those in need. Just $50 feeds 14 people for one week, $300 provides rent assistance to a family to prevent eviction, and $500 provides food for 100 seniors. In addition, Metrocrest Resale is now accepting donations. You can drop off your gently used items at the back of the store from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Keep up the good work, Metrocrest Services! We are thankful for you.
