KoonsFuller Takes Care of Your Family Law Needs

While the world has certainly stilled over the last few weeks, family law remains as important as ever. That’s why KoonsFuller Family Law is still ready and available to help with your legal needs during the COVID-19 pandemic – and beyond.

“The current situation we all find ourselves in puts additional stress on relationships, no matter how good they are to begin with,” said Rick Robertson, managing shareholder of KoonsFuller in Plano. “Unlike retailers who have had to shut their doors or dentists who can’t treat their patients, KoonsFuller lawyers and staff have continued to serve their clients each and every day – even though working remotely.”

Robertson explained how his business is operating while employees are working from home. All files are secure in cloud-based HIPAA compliant servers, and every lawyer and support staff member has access to them. Client meetings continue as scheduled, but more often by telephone and Zoom than before. Court filings already take place digitally and most of their courts are open for business and conducting certain types of hearings by Zoom. KoonsFuller even has a mental health professional on staff to help clients with difficult relationships and child custody issues during the crisis.

“Business in our legal world hasn’t stopped by any means, and we are preparing for many more people needing legal help when all this is over,” added Robertson.

KoonsFuller helps people with divorce, child custody, prenuptial agreements, property division, paternity and more. They have more than three dozen proven attorneys, decades of experience and five fully staffed offices across Texas, making them the Southwest’s largest family law firm.

To help people stay lighthearted during these difficult times, Robertson told me a little joke he wanted me to pass on to readers. “It is always great to hear a little humor during difficult times and the COVID-19 times are like none any of us have ever experienced. So, the joke goes like this: ‘I was thinking about Osama bin Laden during our shelter-in-place order. He was stuck in his house for five years with three wives. I’m beginning to think he called in the Navy Seals.’”
