Galleria Dallas Hosts Carter BloodCare Blood Drive, May 22-24

blankGive back to the community by donating blood! Galleria Dallas and Carter BloodCare have teamed up to host a three-day, socially distanced blood drive from 11. a.m.-6 p.m. May 22-May 24. The shopping center, which recently re-opened to serve customers at a limited capacity, will host this blood drive inside, between Nordstrom and grand Lux Café

“We are thrilled to partner with Carter BloodCare to help them provide life-saving resources for our regional hospitals here in North Texas,” explained Galleria Dallas General Manager Angie Freed in a recent press release. “Galleria Dallas is committed to improving life for North Texans, and events like these blood drives are an important part of our community relations strategy.”

Galleria Dallas volunteered to lend its support and available space to aid Carter BloodCare with blood donation during the summer – a traditionally challenging time for blood drives. For nearly four decades, Galleria Dallas has partnered with area non-profits to improve the quality of life for North Texas, so it comes as no surprise that the famed shopping center champions a community health cause, such as blood donation.

As Texas slowly reopens, Carter BloodCare reminds community members to continue to #BraveTheMoment and make time for blood donation when eligible. Blood donation is still safe to do. Blood products are essential to securing the healthcare industry as the country continues to strive for better health. Giving blood now will help sustain the increased demand, as well as build the blood supply for summer.

Carter BloodCare and Galleria Dallas will comply with FDA and CDC guidelines regarding social distancing, sanitation and prescreening procedures to provide a safe donation experience for donors and staff.

In addition to these procedures, Carter BloodCare’s routine health screening includes asking if a donor is feeling well and healthy. If you have any symptoms of illness, including cold or flu, you should not give blood. Blood donors are also routinely screened for temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure, and hemoglobin.

Free parking is available in the Orange Garage on the north side of Galleria Dallas, near Nordstrom. Blood donors should follow signage in the Orange Garage to enter the blood drive through the west side of the center near the Grand Lux Café. Blood donors are required to wear masks in order to enter the shopping center. Galleria Dallas’ set-up allows for the recommended social distancing between donor beds and in waiting areas. Appointments are strongly encouraged to help manage the flow and avoid crowding. Walk-in appointments will be accepted but extra precautions will be put in place. Donors without a scheduled appointment will check-in upon arrival and be directed to a designated waiting area until space is available.

Here’s how you can #bravethemoment:
