Reading has always been one of my favorite activities (even before the novel coronavirus social isolation became a thing). Every month, I feel practically giddy when new books are released. I’m like a 2-year-old hoarding Easter candy – even though I have plenty unread options on my shelf, I still have to get more! This month, pick up one or all of these new releases from Barnes & Noble in Addison, then find a cozy spot in Addison to sit and read for a while.
“The Two Lives of Lydia Bird” by Josie Silver
Love stories get me every time. This story is about Freddie and Lydia, who have been together for more than a decade. When Lydia is 28, Freddie dies, forever changing her life – or does it? Something inexplicable happens, giving her another chance at her old life with Freddie. She is pulled in two different directions – debating on living in the past and venturing bravely into the future. Read this romantic book at Astoria Caffe with a big glass of white wine in hand.
“Find Your Path” by Carrie Underwood
The first step to getting strong and confident like Carrie Underwood is to pick up her latest book! She believes that fitness is a lifelong journey, where you have to work hard and do your best most of the time. She shares diet and exercise secrets, workout programs, journaling tips and her signature Fit52 workout. Read this on a park bench in Addison Circle Park, then try out some of her fitness tips on the lawn.
“You Are Not Alone” by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen
Suspenseful doesn’t even begin to describe Greer Hendricks’ and Sarah Pekkanen’s latest novel. This psychological suspense is about Shay Miller, who wants to find love but it eludes her. One day, she meets the Moore sisters – Cassandra and Jane have a glamorous, perfect life. Shay will do anything to get them to like her – even die for them.
