Congratulations to Dr. Linda Braddy on being named new president of Brookhaven College! Braddy attended an official reception on Jan. 21, where she was officially introduced as the president. She started her tenure as president late last year and looks forward to building connections between the college and surrounding community.
“I am committed to ensuring Brookhaven College and DCCCD contribute to the vibrancy, growth and economic stability of the community,” said Braddy in a recent press release.
Braddy has a solid foundation to build on for this kind of partnership. For more than 40 years, Brookhaven College has been an educational center for countless students, a partner with area business to offer training and employees, and a venue for arts and entertainment.
City officials like Wes Pierson, Addison City Manager, and Glen Blanscet, City of Carrollton Councilmember, attended along with representatives from area nonprofit organizations and local businesses. Dr. Joe May, Dallas County Community College District Chancellor, gave the official introduction at the event, and Diana Flores, DCCCD Board Chair, also attended.
Braddy is a native of Oklahoma and earned her bachelor’s degree from East Central University and a master’s degree and a doctorate from the University of Oklahoma. She served as a professor of mathematics and as department chair at East Central University before accepting a position as divisional dean at Tarrant County College.
Congratulations to Braddy on your new role!
