One of the first things I think about when we go on a vacation or a road trip is to always plan out where I’m going to eat. Not just for the obvious reasons that we need to eat, but also because when you plan out your food path, you can make sure you pick places that have clean restrooms, well-lit parking lots, close to the highway and more. Having said that – and go with me here – we need to make sure to plan where we can get take-out or have food delivered over the next few weeks. While cooking at home is our first thought during the #shelterinplace order we are under, grabbing food to-go or having it delivered is also an option.
Let’s start with breakfast, after all, it’s the most important meal of the day.
Pete’s Café is a family favorite. Delicious homemade food that also feeds the soul. They are open for to-go orders between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily. Their breakfast menu features egg plates, omelets, waffles, French toast as well as breakfast tacos, Migas, and quesadillas. Try the Greek omelet made with ham, green onions, and feta cheese. Or a short stack of pancakes with bacon, sausage or ham. If you like something a little spicier, try their Migas which are served with Picante sauce and are made with jalapeños. To order call Pete’s Café at 972-241-1880 and to check out the full menu visit their website, www.petescafetx.com
Snooze An A.M. Eatery on the Village on the Parkway is known for its “Benedicts The Art of Hollandaise Menu” as well as the different flavor pancakes. Through Mar. 31 they are taking online breakfast orders and free delivery. The Benedicts menu features a delicious and spicy Habanero Pork Belly Benny that has a delicious kick to it as well as the Smash Avocado Benny, Ham Benedict, Bella Bella Benny and more. If you can’t decide, try the Benny Duo which lets you choose half an order of your favorite ones. My favorite dish here is the Pancake Flight because I get to choose three flight sized pancake flavors and let me tell you, the Pineapple Upside Down pancakes are always part of that order. My favorite day of the week is #TacoTuesday and while we might not be able to go out and enjoy our favorite tacos with friends on Tuesdays, it doesn’t mean we can’t pick up delicious tacos and have a virtual Taco Tuesday lunch or dinner with friends.
Taqueria La Ventana is offering free delivery and curbside takeout which includes beer. Order a 6 pack of domestics starting at $15 or imports to-go starting at $18.
