See the amazing artwork of Lilian Garcia-Roig, who is coming to Valley House Gallery on Feb. 1 to present Cumulative Nature: WaterCOLORS!
Born in 1966, Lilian Garcia-Roig is a Cuban/American artist whose works are as much as the physicality of the painting process and the materiality of the paint as they are about mashing and mixing the possibilities of painting abstract art. According to her bio, “On a more personal level, all of the on-site works she has made are, at their core, about trying to negotiate the complex propositions of sense of place and belonging which so influence the construction of personal identity. She has a B.F.A. from Southern Methodist University (1988), an M.F.A. from the University of Pennsylvania (1990), and went to the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 1990.
