While the weather is a little cool, we can still enjoy a ride around town in our bikes – or if you prefer, just your walking shoes. Enjoying the outdoors gives you a chance to turn off the work laptop and turn off the TV for a little while, and get out and enjoy the day with neighbors and friends through a little exercise.
Here in Addison, we have beautiful parks with some great trails for you to enjoy.
Addison’s first park was Addison Town Park. A beautiful 2.3-acre space on the corner of Woodway Drive and Sidney Drive. The park opened in 1980 and features a half-mile lighter looped walking/jogging trail.
White Rock Creek Trail Park at the southeast corner of Belt Line Road at Winnwood Road is a beautiful 3/4-mile nature trail that winds alongside the west bank of White Rock Creek. Winnwood Park connects to White Rock Creek Trail Park and features lots of beautiful photo op spots. Walk or jog the trail and enjoy the beautiful scenery as you decompress from the stress of work.
Les Lacs Linear Park North features a 0.94-mile long multi-use trail with a 0.1-mile extension to Belt Line Road and a 0.47-mile sidewalk extension to Midway Road. There is a great playground for the little ones to play and also enjoy time outdoors.
This next park is a hidden gem. North Addison Park is located directly north of the Trinity Christian Academy High School building. It features a half-mile jogging trail with park benches, artistic arbor and more.
Vitruvian Park has over 12 acres of green space and a spring-fed creek for lots of open space to enjoy. The walkway goes along the creek and connects to other trails.
