New Holiday Inn Addison Hosts The Gift of Giving Event with Bush Elementary School

The spirit of Christmas was alive and well in the North Dallas Corridor last month, as the new Holiday Inn and Suites Addison hosted The Gift of Giving event with the George Herbert Walker Bush Elementary School. This festive party was a special evening of celebration, music and culinary delights that include meeting with Santa! It was held on Dec. 18, 2019 at Holiday Inn.

“We know how important the holidays are, and we are proud that Holiday Inn and Bush Elementary have teamed up to create an evening to remember,” said Nadia Loudon, with Holiday Inn and Suites Addison. “We had about 85 people turn out – a great show of kids, who (I think) loved it!”

After the hotel team welcomed the children and their families, the school choir performed Christmas carols. Later, there was a reading of “The Night Before Christmas,” and cookies and hot chocolate were served tree-side. Additionally, Bush Elementary students made hand-made tree ornaments that were displayed in the hotel lobby for the community to enjoy. Each child was also offered a complimentary kids meal courtesy of Flower Child in Addison. Loudon said, “Flower Child is a great initiative and the food is super healthy – just what kids need!”

The highlight of the event was when Holiday Inn Addison presented Bush Elementary School with a check. This was a chance for the hotel “to support and help our important educational community,” according to Loudon.

George H. W. Bush Elementary School is the only public school in the Town of Addison. Founded in 2011 win a partnership with Dallas ISD, Bush Elementary is the academic home to 725 students in grades Pre-K through 5th, with a diversity score of 0.58% (which places them among the more diverse schools in Texas.) The majority of their community qualifies as having high levels of financial need, which allows them to receive federal Title I funding. One of the greatest features of Bush Elementary is the vibrant visual and performing arts department, where they encourage their students to express themselves creatively through music, dance and visual arts.

Thanks Holiday Inn Addison for hosting this festive holiday event, and supporting kids’ education in Addison! We are excited that you are part of our town!
