Was one of your New Year’s resolutions to start eating healthier?
One of the easier diets to follow (and one that has worked great for me) is a low-carb diet. I can still eat steak and bacon, and we’ve found some great low-carb tortillas, so I don’t have to give up tacos.
There are also plenty of great options when dining out, so going out to eat will not ruin the diet.
While there are restaurants that do not offer a low-carb options, if you look carefully, it’s easy to get a little creative and come up with a delicious meal.
Believe or not, In-N-Out has a great low-carb option. You can ask for any of their burgers “Protein Style” and they will wrap your burger in lettuce and lose the bun. A great option when you are in a hurry and don’t have time to stop down at a sit-down restaurant for a full meal.
Visit any of Addison’s BBQ restaurants and enjoy a low-carb friendly meal. It’s easy, stay away from the baked potatoes, fries and bread and you are good to go! Instead of potatoes and bread, ask for veggies. In all honesty, it’s all about the smoked meat when you’re out for barbeque. The bread and fries are just fillers. Try Austin’s Bar-B-Que on Keller Springs and Addison Rd for delicious brisket, smoked sausage and more.
For a nice sit-down meal, try Texas de Brazil’s over 50-item salad area and the 15 different cuts of meat. Again, stay away from the bread and you will be fine.
