Sebastian’s Closet Helps Men Get in the Mood for Sweater Weather

Winter is my favorite time of the year. The day the temperature falls below 70 degrees, I love pulling out my coziest sweaters to wear over stretchy leggings – it’s a great way to look cute while being comfortable at the same time! But for some reason, my husband hates sweaters. I can’t explain it. They feel “too hot,” “too itchy,” or “too lumpy.” That’s why I talked to Tim Leamy, owner of Sebastian’s Closet inside Village on the Parkway, for his take on how to get the guys in our lives more excited about Sweater Weather!

“Guys are so afraid of the word ‘sweater,’” said Leamy. “They claim they are too hot in our warm climate [Ed. Note: exactly!]. Well, step outside for just a minute and you’ll see – this is sweater weather! Selected with our region in mind, sweaters are a wonderful addition to a well-rounded wardrobe.”

Leamy recommends anything made with a super fine merino wool, or lightweight cashmere, wool and cotton blends. “All can be light and airy and perfect for here,” he said.

Currently, Leamy says the most stylish options right now are the cardigan or light sweater jacket. “It’s no longer a grandpa thing; it is a perfect winter finishing piece. Comfortable and friendly; yet, very sophisticated. With just a few middle buttons worn closed or completely open, this style completes your presentation.”

Finally, the hottest color right now is still owned by the blue family, but Earth tones are starting to give them a run for their money. Wear these over shirts, T-shirts, jeans, cotton trousers or dress pants – they are extremely flexible!

Although it still might take some work to get your man in matching sweaters for your next Christmas card, with a little help from the experts at Sebastian’s Closet (and the fashionable options in store!), he will be changing his tune about sweaters in no time!
