You may forget what was under the tree, but you will always cherish wonderful memories made with those you love. That’s why Galleria Dallas is hosting many magical holiday experiences throughout the month of December! Admire sparkling lights, meet Santa, catch an impressive ice show and more. It’ll be (almost) as much fun as Christmas morning!
If you are interested in seeing Santa Claus – who isn’t? – then visit the jolly fellow inside the new Winter Wonderland experience. First, skip the lines by making reservations online. That way, you don’t have to worry about meltdowns from cranky toddlers or cutting into your precious shopping time. When you arrive at Santaland, an elf will personally escort you throughout the entire experience filled with Instagram-worthy photo ops including fir tree forests, polar bears, candy canes and more. When you get to Santa, he is sitting inside a private, custom-designed study so you can have a quiet visit with him without onlookers. Afterward, you can even write a Thank You note to him and put it inside the North Pole mailbox! You can also bring your pet (advanced registration required) from 6-10 p.m. on Dec. 11 and 18.
You also don’t want to miss the Grand Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. Dec. 7, featuring 100 local and regional skaters; Missile Toes, the backflipping Santa; indoor fireworks and international skater Ryan Bradley, the 2011 U.S. Men’s National Champion. If you miss this show, you can come back at 6 p.m. Dec. 14 to see Mirai Nagasu, 2018 Olympic Bronze Medalist and Dancing with the Stars finalist, and Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov, 2019 World Silver Medalists. And at 6 p.m. Dec. 21, you can see Kaetlyn Osmond, 2018 Olympic Team Gold Champion, and Ashley Cain and Timothy LeDuc, 2019 U.S. National Champions.
The highlight of Galleria Dallas at Christmastime is the iconic 95-foot-tall Christmas tree, which millions of people from all around the world come to see. As America’s tallest indoor Christmas tree, it features nearly half a million lights, 10,000 ornaments and a 100-pound, 10-foot-tall LED star.
Other activities this season include story time with Mrs. Claus at Santa’s Village, which will happen at 10 a.m. Dec. 7 and Dec. 14. Slappy’s Holiday Circus, presented by Slappy’s Playhouse, which is like classic European circuses with puppets, magic, clowns, contortionists and jugglers taking place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 7, 14 and 21. For those who celebrate Hanukkah, you can celebrate with the Hanukkah Menorah Lighting, where a candle is lit every evening on a large-scale Menorah from Dec. 22-30 (except on Dec. 24 and 25).
Next week, you can also check out school choir performances if you want to hear your favorite holiday music performed live. On Dec. 12, you can hear Austin Middle School choir at 10 a.m., Brentfield Elementary choir at 11 a.m. and DeZavala Middle School choir at noon. On Dec. 13, you can hear Lamar Middle School at 10:30 a.m., McCowan Middle School at 11:30 a.m., Austin Middle School at 1 p.m. and McMillen High School at 4 p.m. And on Dec. 14, you can hear the Brookhaven Bell Choir perform at 1 p.m.
