Scott Powers Appointed as New CEO for Elara Caring

blankOn September 27, Elara Caring announced, effective immediately, that Scott Powers has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer. Scott Powers received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Arizona State University. He was most recently the President and Chief Operating Officer at Alignments Healthcare, a company focused on providing senior citizens with Medicare Advantage plans. Powers has also served in senior executive roles and Intel Corporation, Cambia Health Solutions, Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Alvarez & Marsal.

“At Elara Caring, our number one priority is to deliver high-quality care to the 60,000 patients we serve across the nation,” said Adam Blumenthal, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Elara Caring. “We are very excited to have Scott Powers as the new CEO at Elara Caring. Scott is a proven operational leader, and we believe he is the best person to lead the company into the next phase of its evolution.”

“Home care is the future of health care and I’m honored to lead Elara Caring moving forward,” said Powers. “Our mission will not change. We are committed to providing the Right Care, at the Right Time, in the Right Place. The company has made strong inroads over the past year and I’m honored to bring my operational and patient-focused experience to help deliver high-quality care and accelerated growth.”

The former CEO, G. Scott Herman, is leaving the business to pursue other opportunities. Herman was instrumental in the formation of Elara Caring in 2018 after the merger of three regional home health care providers. During the developmental stage of the process, Herman’s vision helped greatly.

Elara Caring (www.elara.com) is made up of three award-winning organizations – Jordan Health Services, Great Lakes Caring, and National Home Health Care – and the result is one transformational company that provides the highest-quality comprehensive care continuum of behavioral health, skilled home health, personal care, and hospice care. The company is focused on providing patients with the “right care, at the right time in the right place.” It is made up of 35,000 caregivers serving over 60,000 patients and their families daily, in 225 locations across 16 states. Elara Caring is one of the nation’s largest providers of home-based care, with a footprint in South, Northeast, and Midwest.
