The OU Club of Dallas is hosting its 69th Annual Beat Texas Weekend Oct. 10 to the 12th at the Renaissance Dallas Addison. One of the longest rivalries in college sports will take place this weekend. The eyes of the college football world will be focused on OU vs Texas as they take the field. ‘The Weekend’ as it is also known as, is the most important event for the OU Club of Dallas as they raise money to help provide scholarships for Dallas area students.
The Weekend kicks off with Thursday Night Happy Hour, which will take place at Addison’s newest venue, Sidecar Social. According to their press release, “All OU Club of Dallas Members have a chance to purchase OU/TX tickets at face value plus $10 in our raffle, but you must be present to win!” This is a great opportunity to grab tickets to the game if you haven’t already as well as meet some of the other alumni and OU fans. Trae Anderson, President OU Club of Dallas said, “The hype for 2019 Red River Showdown is bigger than ever as ticket prices and availability will attest. OU Club of Dallas remains true to its membership base with offering members an opportunity to purchase Game tickets at Face Value through a raffle at our Kickoff the Weekend Happy Hour Thursday, Oct. 10 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Sidecar Social in Addison.”
On Friday check out the ‘Beat Texas’ Pep Rally and Party. Make sure to purchase your ticket for reserved seating for all of the evening events. The Garden Court will also have a cash bar available for those with reserved seating. Prices for these seats are $20 per seat and a table of 10 is $200. Your reserved seat will give you the best view of The Pride of Oklahoma and OU Spirit Squads as they get everyone in game-day mode with the only Pep Rally in the city. There are also dinner reservations and Sooner Specials available at the Noelle JCT Restaurant (Renaissance’s new in-house restaurant).
As if this wasn’t enough, this year the event will feature the #1 Bon Jovi tribute band, Blaze of Glory. The show begins at 7 p.m. in the Garden Court. Make sure to also check out the ‘Icons of Oklahoma’ Autograph Session with Sooner Greats and bring the family for pictures with the Ruf/Neks and Sooner Schooner.
“We continue to bring the biggest party to our OU fans Friday night at the Renaissance Dallas Addison. This year, Fanatics joins us with a 3800 sq. ft store where Sooners can purchase their game day gear from a large selection of special Red River Showdown styles. While our Alumni and friends are enjoying the pregame celebration, the OU Club of Dallas is all business raising money for Dallas-area students to attend The University of Oklahoma on scholarships. This year 25 undergraduates from Dallas attend OU as a result of the generosity of our Alumni and friends. Beat Texas Weekend is our largest fundraiser each year and this year is shaping up for a banner year!” Trae Anderson.
Finally, Touchdown Club and OU Club of Dallas have partnered to provide a safe and stress-free ride to the game for all guests with a police-escorted ride to and from the game. This is a great way to get to the game without having to fight traffic, spending time looking for parking and then sitting in gridlock traffic after the game trying to exit the parking lot.
